The new STA-235 is a highly versatile AM/FM Stereo Receiver which delivers
enough power to drive almost any speaker system. The "honest" 55 watts per
channel over the entire audio bandwidth will drive both "main" and "remote"
speakers. And it has the performance and convenience features that
distinguish a truly great receiver.
Integrated circuits are used for all critical circuit stages - PLL for
rock-stable Stereo, plus IF/Detector, Mute/Auto-Magic and Phono preamp.
Built-in Quatravox synthesizes 4-channel sound from ordinary stereo
sources. Whenever you're ready, just add a second set of stereo
speakers for the rear channels. It's the best of both worlds - stereo
With the FM tuner, the specifications tell the story. There's a dual-
gate MOS FET in both the FM RF and Mixer stages, resulting in greater
immunity to distortion products, excellent sensitivity and reduced
noise. When you tune, Muting eliminates interstation hiss.
Our exclusive Auto-Magic dramatically simplifies FM tuning. When you
touch the tuning knob, it lets you dial stations easily. Then as you
release the knob, Auto-Magic fine-tunes the station and locks it in for
For total circuit protection, we've built-in three special circuits -
time delay relay, thermal cut-out plus over-drive protection.
Glide-Path volume controls for each channel let you see, as well as
hear, the system's balance.
Front panel jacks let you listen to any high-level source or make tape
recordings without troublesome rear panel connections.
A wideband AM delivers that medium's maximum fidelity.
All three Tone controls are step-type and a special button defeats the
Tone controls for flat frequency response.
Two completely independent Tape Monitor circuits make it easy to
duplicate tapes or make more than one recording at one time.
At Radio Shack we also believe a receiver should look as good as it
sounds. Like every Realistic component, the STA-235 comes with a beautiful
oiled walnut case - and it doesn't cost you a penny extra.
